Smoothie Time

Smoothies have become very popular these days. You can have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even as a snack! There are so many interesting foods you can put in smoothies. You would be shocked at how delicious some unusual foods taste when blended together. We were skeptical about putting spinach and strawberries in the same smoothie too, but it tastes amazing. Don’t knock it until you try it. Here are three smoothies that are not only delectable but can also be great for your teeth.

#1:  Avocado Mango Smoothie

This smoothie is great if you’re looking to sport a healthy smile! The most recognizable ingredient is the avocado, which provides calcium for strong teeth. The avocado flesh is also full of prebiotic fiber that promotes healthy digestion. These types of fiber feed probiotic bacteria in your oral and gut microbiome.

  •  cup frozen mango
  • ½ pitted avocado
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1-2 tbsp honey
  • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

#2: Banana Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

With an array of different fruits, this is the smoothie for you if you’re looking to strengthen those gums and reduce the risk of gingivitis. A new study suggests that a daily dose of yogurt may keep your breath fresher. … They say the results suggest that the active bacteria in yogurt may have a beneficial effect on odor-causing bacteria.

  • ½  banana
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • One cup of strawberries
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup water or ice
  • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

#3: Healthy Berry and Spinach Smoothie

We all know the health benefits of spinach. This leafy vegetable is packed with vitamins and minerals. It is also a good source of iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and folic acid. These vitamins are all essential for good dental health. If you aren’t a fan of the taste, sneaking them into these smoothies is a perfect way to give your body the nutrients it needs.

  • 1 cup of plain yogurt
  • 1 cup of frozen berries
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup frozen spinach
  • 5 strawberries
  • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Make sure to have fun with these recipes! You can modify them any way you want to appeal to your taste buds. They don’t take long, and they are healthy for your mouth and your body. The best part, you ask? If you don’t have time to make them in the morning, whip one up the night before. You can just grab it from the fridge and head off to work with a healthy boost for the day!

If you are on the run here in Rockford, we recommend stopping at Thrive Cafe to grab one of their delicious smoothies. The Dragon Slayer is amazing.
